Book Week

Excitement is filling the air!  Next week is the annual Book Week at Leabank Primary School.  Loads of visitors have been arranged to come and read to the children - we have TV personalities as well as politicians coming in.  Mr Mawhinney, Mrs Edwards and Mrs Good are also coming around the classes to read, as well as the teacher aides and dental nurses!  We are going to have books coming out of our ears!!

The culminating event (as usual) will be the grand parade of book characters.  There will be prizes again for the best costumes for junior, middle and senior school.  The main criteria for the costumes is that they are NOT bought from a shop - we want to see how well the children can use their imagination and make their own costume from clothing that they already have at home, or by using a length of material or an old box that is lying around.  Let's see how imaginative you can be!!!

We really want parents to come in and read to their child's class(es) - so have a chat to your child's teacher if you would like to come in and we can arrange a time to suit.

HAPPY READING EVERYONE!
